It is mid-Spring and the perfect time to tackle this section of the white garden. Early to mid-Spring is the best time to do any transplanting within your garden and this little garden bed is getting some big changes.
This small border next to the rear of the cottage is the driest part of the entire white garden. The soil is very sandy and I had to amend it last year once I ripped out the lawn, weeds and clover that were here. The garden bed is 2 feet deep by 12 feet long and looking at the picture below you would think I couldn’t get a lot in here but I’m about to add even more plants to this part of the garden. Currently planted in this bed are a limelight hydrangea, 2 little limes, 2 white lilacs, some hollyhock seedlings and a perennial mum.
The goal is to fill it with sun loving perennials & fill in the empty spaces with beautiful airy annuals. Here’s my plan for the perennials in this garden bed:
